Nice to meet you.

 

I started sewing with my Grandmother when I was 7. She taught me first to pin and cut and quickly graduated me to fine machine sewing, hand sewing, and pattern drafting. Now I like to make beautiful and fun garments for my daughter and myself, my lovely friends and wonderful clients! I aspire to make costumes for theatre and films... period dramas would be so fun to costume!

 

I especially love looks that incorporate vintage style with modern sensibilities. Meaning I use vintage patterns with new fabric that has a retro look, new zippers, etc. so each garment goes in the wash and you can wear it for a long time to come.

Cosplay and Costumes are so big now! And I'm getting a lot more into that experience with my daughter. We love Sci-Fi tv shows like Doctor Who, and Marvel movies. So fun to dress up and become your favorite character!

 

I'm devoted to the idea of passing on valuable and useful skills. I've taught sewing on and off since about 1995, doing kid's camps and private lessons for adults. I recently taught some co-workers in one of our conference rooms after hours and an idea was born! So now I'm bringing the class to you, whether you want private lessons in your home or have a group project and need a sewing "leader".
