Miss Karrol's Sewing Academy
An 8 week class covering the basics of garment sewing. 2 hours each session, 1 session per week, for a total of 16 hours of instruction. I will provide up to 4 machines and instruction on: use and care of the sewing machine, how to use a paper pattern, sewing a tote bag, pajama pant, and a skirt or shorts with a zipper and waistband. You will need: a location for the class, your sewing machine if you have one (it's always best to learn on your own), a tool kit (list will be supplied at first class), fabric, patterns and notions for projects. 4 people per class, aged 8 and over. $300.00 per person
Project Workshop for Groups
For troops, charity or church groups, parties, or just a bunch of friends getting together, this is a 4 hour workshop that is tailored to your desired project. Projects can be: sewing for a troop patch, drawstring backpack, elastic back headband, juggling balls, shopping tote, pillow cases, chemo care turbans, and many more. I will provide: 4 machines, project samples and instruction for up to 8 people aged 8 and over. You will need: the location for the class, a project that we will choose together via first meeting or email, your fabrics and supplies, any additional machines desired. S.O.S. - Basics Workshop
For those who have a sewing machine but don't know how to use it, or just want some basics to do repairs, alterations, crafts, and DIY home projects. I cover the use and care of the sewing machine, straight and zigzag stitching, curves and corners, repairing rips, open seams and zippers, simple alterations, hand sewing for buttons and hems. I provide: 4 hours of instruction for up to 4 people, fabric and notions for learning samples. You will need: a location for the class, your own sewing machine with thread and needle, your items that need work. $75.00 per person

Working with Vintage Patterns
Learn to love, care for and sew with your vintage sewing patterns. We'll cover proper storage, tracing, how to decipher those mysterious non-printed markings and limited instructions, simple pattern adjustments and chosing period correct fabric and notions. I provide: pattern tracing paper and tools, 2 hours of instruction for up to 2 people. You will need: a location for the class, your vintage pattern of choice, your fabric and supplies. $75.00 per person
One to One - Private Lessons in Your Space
If you want to work on your own project, get help with specific problem areas or just get full one-on-one attention, then private lessons are for you. I have experience with wedding parties, costumes, pattern alterations and fitting, working with vintage clothing and patterns and home decor sewing. Email or call me with your specifics and let's get to work! I come to you, so I bring my own tools and expertise, including my machine if you want assistance with a sewing project. You supply: the location, your own sewing machine and project supplies. Minimum 1 full hour and up to 4 hours per session for when you just really need help to get a project done. $65.00 per hour for instruction / $75.00 per hour for sewing assistance.
