Sewing for charity as a group activity is a great way to have fun and fellowship while doing something good for others. There are so so many worthwhile groups that could use your skills! And if you don't actually have those skills, why not book a group class - I come to your location and bring sewing machines and instruction for those who need it!

I have a great fondness for chemo turbans, having seen several women in my family go through chemo with breast cancer. So I've seen the struggle they go through to get through to wellness. Why not give them something comfortable and comforting to wear while they get through their treatment?

In our area of Southern California there are also some shelters and homes for children that use pillowcases for the kids to use for their personal belongings when they're moving through the social services process. It gives them something of their own to carry with them that's not just a plastic or paper bag.

Pillow cases in fun fabrics are a quick and easy project for these shelters or for children's hospitals - but keep in mind most children's hospitals require all new materials so that their little patients aren't exposed to outside germs.

Whatever you choose to sew, you'll never forget the feeling of sewing something to share with others who needs help! Here's an article from Craftsy with some other fantastic ideas for your charitable sewing.
